Oranges, carrots and ginger soup / Zuppa d'arance, carote e zenzero

INGREDIENTS
10 carrots
1 not treated orange
1 piece of ginger
1 little onion
olive oil
salt

Slice the onion and brown it in a little oil, add the pieces of ginger and the orange juice, let it cook for a while; at this point add the pieces of carrots, a little water and salt. Let it cook until the carrots get soft (add water if needed) then mix everything. Serve with some oranges peels. You may vary the oranges, carrots and ginger quantities according to your desires.

Affettate la cipolla e soffriggetela in poco olio, aggiungete lo zenzero tagliato a pezzetti e il succo di un'arancia, lasciate cuocere un po'; a questo punto aggiungete le carote a pezzi, un po' d'acqua e un po' di sale; lasciate cuocere finché la carota sarà molle (se c'è bisogno aggiungete durante la cottura acqua); a questo punto frullate il tutto. Servite con qualche scorzetta d'arancia.Le quantità di arancia, carote e zenzero possono variare a seconda del prorpio gusto.

Pasta and beans / pasta e fagioli

Autumn is coming, at the market you'll find the first fresh bean, it is time for an excellent pasta and bean, a typical dish from Veneto Region.

INGREDIENTS
beans
carrots
onion
celery
lard or bacon
Parmesan cheese rind
short pasta
olive oil

Take the beans out of the skin (you may use the dried ones in this case you have to put them in water the night before), brown the carrots, the celery and the onion in oil, add the slice of bacon or lard, the Parmesan cheese rind, then add the beans, cover with water, add some salt and let it cook for an hour and a half. Mash (or blend) a third of the beans, add some water if the soup should be too thick, boil it and cook the pasta you prefer. Serve with a little oil and some pepper.

Si avvicina l'autunno, al mercato si trovano i primi fagioli freschi, è tempo di un'ottima pasta e fagioli, piatto tipico veneto.

INGREDIENTI
fagioli
carota
cipolla
sedano
lardo o pancetta
crosta di grana
pasta corta
olio di oliva

Sbacellate i fagioli (potete usare anche quelli secchi allora occorre metterli in ammollo la sera prima), soffriggete in un po' d'olio la carota, il sedano e la cipolla tritati, aggiungete una fetta di pancetta o lardo intera, la crosta del formaggio grana se l'avete, infine aggiungete i fagioli, coprite d'acqua, aggiustate di sale e fate cuocere per circa un'ora e mezza. Schiacciate (o frullate) un terzo dei fagioli, allungate un po' con acqua se la minestra dovesse risultare troppo densa, portate a ebollizione e cuocetevi la pasta che più vi piace. Servite con un filo d'olio e una macinata di pepe.

Patty Pravo, art name of Nicoletta Strambelli, is a famous Italian singer born in Veneto Region, Venice on April 9th 1948. She spent her youth in Venice with her grandmother and since she was very young she studied dance, piano and attended a course of orchestra leader too. Afterwards she spent some time in London and then she moved in Rome where she started to have success under the name of Guy Magenta. It is in the legendary Piper Club cult place of that period that she was discovered by the manager Alberigo Crocetta. The choice of her art name was made by the singer and it refers to Dante's Inferno. She has a very long and musical lucky carrier with the publication of 18 long player records from 1968 to 1990 and 10 cd from 1994 to 2011.

Wonderful Thought is a song of 1978.
